CO2 VISIBILITY & EFFICIENCY SCORE

In line with our mission to support and accelerate the industry’s decarbonisation efforts, our solutions span a number of key indicators, since we strongly believe that you can’t reduce what you don’t measure.

More specifically, we provide CO2 emissions data along the complete booking process and lifetime of a shipment. The CO2 emissions are calculated according to the IATA Recommended Practice 1678 for all carrier schedules, routes, for all bookings and for every AWB tracking, irrespective of the carrier's native capability to produce these numbers themselves. Customers can also request specific emission reports over a longer time frame to support their carbon accounting requirements.

Embedded Tools

Beyond visibility, which is only the first step, CargoAi offers various steering instruments, to ensure that the procurement decisions are made on the most CO2 efficient transportation options and avoid unnecessary emissions. This takes the form of built-in features in our app, such as “greenest” filters and flags which enable clients to seamlessly recognise and opt for the most fuel-efficient transportation options.

CO2 Efficiency Score

The second central, innovative feature is the CO2 efficiency score, which measures how carbon-efficient a transportation option is compared to all other bookable options available, based on routes and aircraft information. This CO2 efficiency score is available on shipment and booking level but also on a consolidated level, so as to support not only the immediate transaction but provides insights into procurement decisions over time and across markets, including industry benchmarks.

The analysis provides indication of how CO2 efficient the procurement decisions are and what green premium is needed to achieve a better score, which is a game-changing instrument to support meaningful discussions between freight forwarders and their own clients.
